Aav re varsad - RAIN , Please come !

Image
Children out there on ground awaited for their first rain bath and everyone else were eager to smell that wet soil smell. During rain when you enter a village, on roads and in every common plots kids are seen jumping in puddles and teams fighting over a cricket team on ground. "Aav re Varsad Dhebariyo Parsad Uni Uni Rotli ne Karela nu Shaak" This is a proverb every Gujarati would remember saying it every time in their childhood whenever it rained. The pitter patter of rain drops on roofs of old houses and relishing tea on veranda makes our day more happening in life of  a person whether in office or at home. The view of the horizon gains a touch of beauty and  makes our mind more calm. Be it in any part of our country the season is enjoyed to its full. At the end rainbow is the bonus of the happy time spent. All students and employee's happy time begins with monsoons. Isn't that true? Most of our festivals fall in this season and if we are fortunate enough due b...

Mandan drew A somber sillhoute atop A wall of royal escourt Assisted by bastions. Now, a monument Was a home to his highness Temples to god  And Was refuge amidst Mewad and Marwad. The topography of the place The character of fort And conduct of Regal With no doubt is alike.  Formidable by all means The fortress in the wilderness Gave birth to Maharana Pratap One of his kind. I wonder, if, on road I meet anyone with no one to share their life with or everyone to ignore them when they pass by, how they reached the point where they are now. A pair of cloth to put on and what all things they have in their single bag is all their gold they own. I really overthink for her as  prowess when she hop on the bus every single day with tight low hair bun tied up and a saree under a grey colour jacket with lots of holes to allow cold to penetrate. When I first saw her she was an old lady who every single day commute in a same bus at same time but never talks to anyone. In between the crowd where one barely has a space to stand in, that old lady of nearly in her eighty's stands straight till approximately 40 kilo meters for more than hour and half. Who do you think she is? If you ask me she is the most punctual self employed lady I have ever seen. The way she enters the the bus she is full of strength and confidence although never having ...

Just 20 sec read! WHYCHCOTE : These pitched roofs are  playing up and down from hundreds of years. People of every country follows same tradition of building houses as strong as they could to make them stand still for many more years. Anyways the houses built before 100 years span from today unlike Contemporary houses have used burnt bricks, mud-lime mortar and timber posts and beams which are proven to be more healthier and sustainable shelters.  In United Kingdom, the added material was wool and black tiles (black tiles more prominent in Brighton) in the cavity between wooden walls or roofs to counter harsh winters and more rains.  The Whychcote is a house with Tudor style of Victorian architecture of late 1880's. It is very closely attached to the history of Portslade village.  This house enhances life of the family members and street of the village with juxtaposing period features and historical elements perfectly appointed with new features.

Just 20 sec read! Where ever you go in world, at last the all peace you get is not in any retreat bunglow but home. It is layers of spaces with all the love and care one needs. In old days each of our activity and the grandma's stories we hear today used to he inscribed on houses in form of carvings or paintings on walls. How deep was there understanding that, they believed that  it would become our grandfather's heritage and pass on from generation to generation.  The two tangibe and intangible factors that connects us with our history are "sentiments" attached to our grandfather's house and it's rich "architecture respectively.  On that note, not only be proud of our patrimony but percieve the significnace it had, has and will have forever.
